After a one year sentence, Nafla has been released from jail.
On July 16th, Nafla made an Instagram post confirming that he has been released from jail. The rapper shared a picture with the caption “first day out.”
Last year, on August 10th, Nafla was found guilty of violating the Military Service Act by falsifying attendance records, and received one year in jail - this came after being assigned as a social service worker in February 2021 to the Seocho-gu Office in Seoul.
The rapper was further accused of attempting to avoid completing the assigned work, reasoning it with his mental health becoming worse. In addition, the court determined that Nafla breached the military service obligation while he was being tried for a marijuana smoking offence.
Ravi, the founder of GROOVL1N and a label friend of Nafla, was involved in the same case last year. In an attempt to avoid being enlisted into the military, Ravi was found guilty of providing a falsified medical record to the Military Manpower Administration and pretending to have epilepsy. The prosecutor granted Ravi a suspended sentence after acknowledging that he was a first-time offender.
Can we expect anything new from Nafla this year?
