In a notice posted on their Twitter account, Starship Entertainment revealed that Jooyoung would be leaving the label.

Having debuted in 2010 under RealCollabo, Jooyoung then signed to Belikwater Records from 2013-2014. Since 2014, he has been signed to Starship X, a subsidiary label of Starship Entertainment.

Jooyoung has worked with many artists throughout his career - in 2015, he appeared on Starship's first idol survival show "No Mercy" as a guest judge and his team released the song "0 (YOUNG)" which features Mad Clown, GIRIBOY, and several MONSTA X members. He has also previously worked with Hyolyn on "Erase" and "Love Line" (the latter of which also features Bumkey), and Jo Hyun Ah of Urban Zakapa.

In 2018, Jooyoung released his second extended play "Fountain" which charted at number 75 on Gaon. Almost all of the songs on the EP have over a million streams on Spotify, and it has features from pH-1, SOLE, and GSoul. A year later, in 2019, pH-1 also featured on Jooyoung's third extended play titled "Pure Happiness".

In addition to working as a singer, the musician has also helped others as a co-producer and co-lyricist. Most recently, he worked with Starship Entertainment labelmates MONSTA X, WONHO, and CRAVITY. He is credited on MONSTA X's song "GAMBLER" which peaked at number 5 on the Billboard US World Digital Songs chart.

Jooyoung has certainly consolidated his place as a musician in the industry. As a well-rounded and dedicated artist, we look forward to seeing what projects he has for the future.
