Daytona Records announces closure

Daytona Records Store to close after two years of music and memories.

On Wednesday August 14th Daytona Records, a record store launched by Daytona Entertainment, announced their closure via Instagram. The store, which is now set to close on August 31, 2024, has served as a physical hub for the label’s activities. As the store prepares to close its doors, Daytona Records made a statement on Instagram expressing gratitude for the support it has received, signaling the end of this chapter for the label.

The full statement reads:

Hello, this is Daytona Records.

We have had a great time with various artists' album releases and events over the past two years. We will close our business on August 31, 2024. The online store will only accept orders until August 18th. We would like to thank everyone who has supported Daytona Records so far, and we wish you a life filled with music in the future!

Daytona Entertainment is a prominent independent music label founded by rappers The Quiett and Yumdda in 2020. The label is known for its focus on underground artists such as Paloalto, Meloh, Toil and Street Baby. A variety of albums across different genres have been released under the label, highlighting its commitment to artistic diversity and innovation. In June of 2022 labelmates The Quiett, Paloalto, and Yumdda launched the Daytona record shop.

Located in the vibrant and creative neighborhood of Mapo-gu in Seoul, Daytona Records has been a place where fans and artists could interact directly. Over the past two years, it has hosted album releases, signing events, musical performances, and other music-related events, making it a beloved spot for the K-hiphop community.
